Short update on the first 2000 kilometers with my ë-C4. I am still very happy with it though it hasn't the biggest range in it's class. Loading up the battery goes pretty fast and it is suprisingly efficient. The tech in the car like the infotainment system is not the most state of the art in the automotive business. The comfort and smooth ride is iconic for the Citroën brand and one of the usp...

    Ive purchased a C5 Aircross 1.6 Hybrid few months ago and im having issues that it is really bad with fuel economy, i get around 10-12 only. Even on a long trip on the highway 110km/h with 1 stop from Copenhagen to Hamburg it managed to get 13-14 Km/L which i think is redicilous for being a "green car", we "upgraded" from a 2019 C3 Aircross 1.6 VTR sport Diesel Automatic which would run at 26-32 Km/L on the highway which is double. Does anyone know about this ?: Im having issues that it idles REALLY high, like 1500-1800 constantly and even when i 8th gear on the highway at 110km/h it will run at 1800-2200, old C3 Aircross diesel would run at 1500 in 6th gear at same speed.. Another issue is that it is suposed to do 61km on the battery alone, ive never managed to get the display to show more then 30 and usually its 24-28 when fully charged which is half. I do know that driving conditions and habbits changed all these things but something feels way off. It makes no sense having a hybrid if it is half the Km/L compared to having a diesel, just for the sake of it being more "clear and green" but in reallity its doubled our monthly spendage on fuel alone without taking in to account the electric charge cost and the higher cost of the loan and insurance. We are honestly concidering selling the junk and buying 2 smaller cars, a small electric car like the smart fortwo EQ AND something Diesel, like the C3 Aircross.

      That is very sad to hear. Personally I never had any issues with the 1.2 Puretech 130 and it was very carefull with petrol. Build quality wise it also was very good. I hope that you can work things out.

    It looks really beautiful. Have the largest cascapedias and a perfect 4" for my double handers, but I'm considering it for my 9ft 4wt.. would you choose the lwt 4, or should I go for the lwt 5?

    • @Muushondje
      @Muushondje 6 місяців тому

      Thanks for watching. I would go for the LWT 5 because it will provide you with a better rod and reel balance. And as a bonus it holds a little bit more line and backing. The spool is a bit wider so it gives you less line memory. Good luck !

    I worked on the development of this rod in mid 1990's. The company I worked for was doing noise quieting work for USN but we were in between contracts (we thought) so had some down time. My co-worker and good friend Earl D approached me one day and said lets try to figure out the modes of vibration of his flyrods and see if we can dampen those vibrations. We used very small sensors and a HP Analyser. Once we got the hang of it, Earl contacted Orvis to see if they would be interested and mostly to try to get some free rods that we could "destroy" in attemps to dampen vibrations. Orvis send us about 25 rods with no handles nor eyelets. We cut up some to see what the inside looked like, but most we exoerimented with various dampening materials to see what would work. In mean time we had several computer modeling experts in the company and they set to work creating a computer model to replicate what I was seeing in the testing. Once a good computer model was established , they could add the dampening material to the model in an appropriate area to get the most dampening. With this info we could go back to the actual rods, add that dampening material to the spots the computer model predicted. A few iterations like this and we had a design. Orvis had a team of professional guides that tested new equipment out on Cape Cod. They used the same rod with and without dampening and estimated that the rod got about 10% more distance because of the dampening. The company I worked for got the patent on the design and sold it to Orvis. We mentioned to Orvis rep that we used similar techniques as had been used in the noise quieting on the USS Ohio class submarine design- refered to verbally in the Navy as the Trident Class submarine. That is where the name of the rod came from. Orvis used a video of a submarine proaching (coming out of the water during a surfacing maneuver) in its first TV advertising of the rod . We went on to some golf club work but eventual got laid off when it was obvious no new USN contracts were coming any time soon. Earl did more development work for Orvis on "slippery" lines.

    Very weak customer service, really very very poor. I've been waiting weeks for an answer, despite a reminder. Other customers (and even representatives!) have been waiting for months for a reply to an email (see records in Google). I am absolutely disappointed and will never buy a product from this company again. A clear non-recommendation!

    • @Muushondje
      @Muushondje Рік тому

      Thanks for watching my first view. Well I think you can't go wrong with a size 3000. The weight of this reel is so low that it doesn't make a difference. The advantage with a size 3000 is that the reel arbour is a bit larger so it is more easy to fish your flyline and keep memory coils away. I wish you lots of fun with your superb flyreel ! With kind regards, Robert Remijnse

    • @Muushondje
      @Muushondje Рік тому

      Dear Tom, Thanks for watching. I have owned a two C5 Aircrosses phase 1 before My ë=C4 so I know them quite good. They are a different cup of tea. The C5 Aircross is a SUV and the ë-C4 a bit raised fastback. In terms of comfort I prefer the C4. It seats are better suited for my back. In terms of ride quality it soaks up the lumps and bumps in the road better then the C5 Aircross. The C4 in its elektric form has an higher weight than The C5 and that works well with the progressive hydraulic cushions.

    Thanks a lot Robert, for your thoughts and insights. At the moment i'm comparing this reel with the new Hardy ultradisc cassette reel. A difference of 30 euros, not so much. I want to use it for carp and seatrout, maybe for bass too, on the dutch rivers. Hardy has quite some experience making cassette reels, but i don't like the fact that the aluminum housing isn't closed totally around the cassette. Above that i heard questionable things about the service since Hardy was overtaken. Have you already been fishing with thr reel? I'm curious 😊 Tight lines!

    • @Muushondje
      @Muushondje Рік тому

      Wim, thanks for watching ! You can't go wrong with both reels. They are very well designed and have a very proven cassette change system. I think the build quality of the Hardy is a tad better than the Vision. I am not a huge fan of the foam turning handle of the Stillmaniac. Hardy does it imho better with a aluminium one. So the choice is up to you ! With kind regards, Robert

    I have a Collie that I walk every night in the fields. I have some good waterproof walking boots and I hated Wellington boots as a kid and haven’t worn a pair for 30 years but I’ve got caught out many times over winter and this spring so far with waterlogged and flooded fields and crossing streams. My boots are finished and now I fancy replacing them with good Wellington boots After this video I’m certain to purchase a pair. I’m going to save for a pair of these. The reputation of quality and comfort proceeds them from every review I’ve seen, and after all, if you buy cheap: you biy twice! Thanks for the great video

    Considering myself a Citroholic on their simplicity monuments having owned various 2CV's and (Aca)Dyana's, I am totally lost about this concept. It is merely so that the neglective PSA marketeers have put the Ami name on their roofed pensioners vehicle....

    • @Muushondje
      @Muushondje 2 роки тому

      I totally disagree with that. Citroën is back on track with great designed models like the C4 and C5X. What's done is done and the Ami is a certain cool example how Citroën keeps reinventing it self. Don't keep looking tot the past. The future is ahead.
